The Center for Academic and Professional Enhancement (CAPE) will provide opportunities for WesternU employees to develop as excellent educators and University community members who facilitate learning in innovative ways.
Our mission is to support WesternU employees in their development as effective teachers, mentors, leaders and community members who create effective, engaging and innovative learning environments.
CAPE provides the following services to faculty:
- New Faculty Orientation: Held annually in July at the start of the academic year, this orientation provides information on departments, services and resources that new faculty will find valuable in their roles at Western University of Health Sciences.
- CAPE Sessions: A monthly calendar consisting of a variety of Professional Development presentations on relevant topics. The presentation schedule is emailed monthly and both faculty and staff are strongly encouraged to attend these free professional development events.
- University Faculty Development Committee: The University Faculty Development Committee brings together CAPE and faculty representatives who are interested in faculty development and teaching and learning issues, from each of the colleges. Together members advise and direct CAPE activities in areas most beneficial for faculty.
